A Keyboard driver is a program that controls the keyboard; it acts like a translator between keyboard and other programs that use the device.

Every device, whether it is a printer, disk drive, sound card, or scanner, etc, must have a driver program. Many drivers, such as the keyboard driver, come with the operating system.
